The COCOBA (Community-Based) Training Program represents TenderHands' commitment to building lasting capacity within the communities we serve. Rather than creating dependency on external support, we invest in training local people to become agents of change in their own communities.
Training Areas
Our training curriculum covers maternal and newborn health, nutrition and feeding practices, disease prevention and hygiene, community mobilization and leadership, basic health data collection and reporting, and reproductive health education.
The training changed how I see my role. I am not just a health worker — I am a leader in my community. — Community Health Worker, Dodoma
Impact
Over 500 community health workers, birth attendants, and community leaders have completed our training programs. Follow-up assessments consistently show significant improvements in health knowledge, practice, and community health outcomes in areas where our trained workers operate.
